The Forum
How Anonymity Works
Per-thread identity, PIN-protected. Moderators can reveal — with an audited reason. Here is the exact model, and the honest limits of the promise.
The identity flow
You
Verified aviation role, account ≥ 7 days, no strikes.
Toggle
Identified, or anonymous for this thread.
Anonymous #N
A per-thread label, assigned once at write.
PIN
6–8 digits. Protects rotation and later anonymous posts.
Moderated
An audited reveal process exists. Moderators identify you only with a written reason.
The mechanics
The toggle
Every composer has one switch. Off — you post as yourself. On — you post as Anonymous #N, a per-thread label assigned at write time. The label is stored once and never re-derived, so your posts read as one continuous voice in a thread. Want a fresh start? Use a new anonymous username (once per day) — future posts in that thread get a new number, and nothing links the two identities.
Who can post anonymously
Verified aviation professionals with an account at least 7 days old and no active strikes. Five anonymous posts per day, one rotation per day. Job posts and offers are identified-only, always.
Moderated, not vanished
Posts stay on the thread. Edits create a new version rather than rewriting history. The community is moderated — abuse is reported and acted on, and nothing silently disappears from a live discussion.
What anonymity means — and what it does not
The public forum shows no account, no email, no IP — an anonymous author can't be messaged. mAT attests that a verified professional in good standing wrote the post, not which one. Anonymity is a promise from mAT backed by an audited reveal process — not a mathematical guarantee.
Reveals
Moderators can identify an anonymous author only for moderation or legal reasons, with a written reason, through the audited reveal process — the reason is recorded before the reveal happens. No reveal, no exception.
The rules
Serious aviation talk: recruitment, pay, safety, certs, carriers, MRO, schedules — the conversations that are hard to have with your name attached. No harassment, no doxxing attempts, no harassment-by-reveal. Report anything that crosses the line.
